International Day of Yoga 2024

We had a wonderful practice at East Coker Village Hall to celebrate the United Nations International Day of Yoga 2024.

The idea for an International Day of Yoga originally came from Guruji who suggested it to Narendra Modi in 2011. In December 2014 it was formally adopted by the United Nations has been celebrated on 21st June ever since.

Every year the Iyengar community practice the following sequence that was suggested by Geetaji and it has certainly become a joyous tradition in my classes.
